Ryan Oakley Mix of "Who I Am" - RyanOakley - 06-04-2023

Hi, I mixed this song for a class assignment. Please give me feedback.

Sounds fine. As a listener, nothing bothers me. The background vocal feels "shy" it's there but I don't feel like it's doing it's job. It could come up and feel like a real addition. If that makes sense. The lead vocal works. He's got a big voice. It could use some 'air'. Like a cliche boost at 8khz.

That's all. Listening through I was mostly focused on the lyrics and never really thought about the mix besides the background vocal. Which I supposes a point. Sometimes when something is too loud it sounds wrong but also if something is too quiet that sounds wrong as well. Every part of the song is there for a reason. Don't hide it. If it's bad drop it but if not don't give the listener a reason to doubt it.
