Pain Remains - My Mix - hobbyist - 02-11-2022

Hi guys!!!

Here is my mix.
I'll be glad if you take the time to listen to it and give me some feedback.

Cheers!

Very impressive. I especially like the guitars, like a boss. I think you can bring the snap of the snare up a bit louder. It will drive the song forward even more, imo. Together with the guitars you have now, it's gonna sound awesome. I also like the throw delay on the vox, and yeah it cuts thru nicely. Maybe push the synths back a bit further to leave room for the guitars to shine brighter and some beater for the kick too when it gets denser to complete the package? Hope it helps.

Hi SonicTramp!

Thank you for taking the time to listen and give me feedback on my mix!
I'm glad you liked it.
I'll try what you say about the kick, snare and synth.

The processing of the guitars is:

EQ
- High pass at ~200
- Low pass at ~7k
- Bump at ~150-300
- Bump at ~1.5k-5k centered at ~2.5k
- Cut at ~300-2k centered at 500
- Cutting some nasty frequencies in the ~4k-6k range

Compression
~2-3db with a LA3A(ish) compressor.

The throw in the vocals is to reinforce the idea of "every single day" and "never goes away"...
It's a couple of delays, an 8th note that goes to a plate and a 4th note ping pong (both with different high and low pass filters)

Cheers and keep having fun mixing!

Thanks for the tips on the guitar. The quarter note ping pong is very clever. I like the idea.

Out of the 6 EQ moves from you I think the fifth one is most potent. I am not used to with such a wide cut but it's very effective, not only for the guitars but for many others as well. Thanks for sharing.
