Nowhere - Friggy Mix - Friggy - 08-02-2022

I really liked the sound from the drum room so I based most of the mix from that. The direct mics+OH sounded a little too sample-y to me, but softening the transients of everything and blending them in with the rooms sounded really nice.

The vocals ended up going through a plate and a large hall reverb to match the room of the drums. And when I think 80's rock ballad, I don't think dry.  Big Grin

Fun song to work on, most of the tracks didn't need much, just balancing and minimal eqing.

Your mixes always leave a good impression. I will try to search for shortcomings. This is drums. There is no clarity here. Perhaps excessive reverb ate meat on the drums, a reverb delay may be insufficient ... But most likely, the reason in OH. It's hard for me to judge, since I have not seen this project. It is possible that the sound of the drums was better enough problematic.
