what a lovely song, excellent performance although a bit harsh recording, stereo spread also hard, hope it sounds ok, any feedback welcome

I agree with your assessment of the song and the recording—not the best showcase of those Telefunken mics was it? The U47 sounded great though.
I think you did a great job with the dynamics and taming the harshness, I'm just missing some 100Hz warmth in the overall mix. That's my take. Cheers!
