Here's my mix for The Crown.

- I think the drums are a little dry for this genre. Maybe adding some reverb to the snare and toms.
- The bass guitar could use a little more growl. This helps to give the guitars a little extra power.
Maybe listen to some death and black metal songs as a reference. They are not shy using reverb haha.
Overall, solid mix !

Yeah you're right, I just never realised how much reverb they slather on drums.
I tried to get the bass dirt to sound closer to the guitar distortion too.
