By my Side - 'Milk & Honey' style - novalix - 30-04-2021 Hello everybody! When i started this project, i heard a voice say: Use the bleed, young padavan. Here is my try: RE: By my Side - 'Milk & Honey' style - novalix - 23-02-2022 Hi, in my quest in getting better with reverbs i have done a completely new mix of this song. Should be big and boomy. Let me hear what you think. RE: By my Side - 'Milk & Honey' style - filipandrei - 21-04-2022 Hey novalix, Cool mix, nice balance, but I think there is too much overall reverberation and delay (applied to the voice ?) I know there is a lot of spill in the voice mic... Cheers Andrei RE: By my Side - 'Milk & Honey' style - novalix - 21-04-2022 Hey Andrei, thanks for your comment. There are in fact multiple reverbs/delays on every instrument (except bass). I wanted to go from "cautious" to "experimental" and push it to the limits. Listening with some distance, the crossover delays of the keys and the guitar are certainly way too present. For a newb like me, it is easy to get soaked in with things like that. Mixing on headphones is another entry door for that rabbit hole. So i figured to dive in, try to avoid mistakes and do them anyway. I also use headphones when mixing...so I feel you RE: By my Side - 'Milk & Honey' style - Rob Cummings (Hot Milk Studio) - 08-02-2024 I think you did nice work getting most of the balances and the 'reverby' approach is interesting. But there is still way too much midrange "cloudiness" in the track, I found multiple sources contributing to this. If you don't deal with these with multiple notches, it'll be very hard to make your mix 'pop' out of the speakers. That's my feedback, have fun mixing! |
