my take on Nearly There - Bruno CorrĂȘa - 29-04-2021

My first mix done on Reaper. I'm a Pro Tools guy but I've been thinking about jumping out of that boat. Dunno how that's going to go after twenty years of using the same DAW exclusively. Anyways...

Straightforward mix, good dose of sidechaining to clean things up without thinning out the body (and learn some routing in Reaper). Does it sound good?

Thanks for listening!

Trax sounds absolutely delicious!

It sounds like there's an audible duck in the guitar when the vocal's "on", which is probably due to sidechaining.
Levelwise I think I prefer the beat a little more forward in the mix.
Maybe your panning could have been more "creative" - in lack of better term - in order the make the song breathe a little bit more.

All in all this is all small potatos, because your mix sounds great
