Trapped - a scientists mix - NiceDuck - 01-03-2021

Here are the reference tracks I used:

Bloodhound Gang - Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo

Smash Mouth - All Star

Oasis - Lyla

Feel free to criticize my mix!

Overall it works and sounds pretty good. I think the Overhead could come up. Or maybe just have a bit more brightness but that might be tough when he bashes in the choruses. Maybe a hair less bass gtr or a dip in the 100-120hz range to open it up a bit. I'm not a fan of the added distortion on the guitars it feels a little inorganic and distracting. Overall the mix level could come down to give yourself more headroom and less clipping. That all said it works.

Many thanks for your review! I agree on all of what you've mentioned. I have to admit, that I love saturation/distortion on guitar tracks and might have overdone it this time Smile. Here is a revision of my mix.
