my take on Daisy Daisy - Bruno Corrêa - 20-10-2020

This one was fun. I started dumbfounded by the drum sounds, wondering what to do. Did some complete sound replacement, but I went back, forsake the laziness and messed with the original sounds. The drummer hits so hard that there's pretty good separation between sources, which makes agressive equalisation possible without compromising the overall sound.

I ended up using sound augmentation on the snare drum for lack of bottom mike through both traditional triggering (Slate's Trigger) and Wavesfactory's Snare Buzz (free) plugin. Would say it's about 70 percent (heavily mangled) original, 30 augmented.

There's also a trigger on kick drum for a better (and easy, being lazy or practical again) clicky sound, lower band is all original.

Used a pinch of chorus on the guitars, inspired by Earth Frequencies' version (it reminded me of Nirvana's Territorial Pissings mix).

That's it. Would like to read your impressions! : )
