Turkuaz Tip toe Nanoweb Mix - Nanoweb - 12-10-2020 Love the dynamics of a live recording. Added a couple of trumpets. Straight forward mix. Not sure what you meant by "added a couple of trumpets". An exciting mix! That being said, it feels a little high end heavy, I'd guess there's a multi band compressor either on the drum bus or the master bus. I kinda like what it does, but the output on the upper band could be lowered a bit? Completely possible that I'm wrong about this. : ) A bit more oomph on the bass and kick drum would be welcomed too. Actually I ended up listening to your mix with a gentle +2 dB low shelf starting around the 500 Hz zone, made it all more balanced for me. Other things I noticed: . the reverb in the verses are too long for the vocalist, feels to me she's a little drowned in it; . I don't really like the trumpet with all that shimmer, but I'm aware it could be desirable in some aesthetics. . not a problem, per se, but I think it's funny that Dave's guitar is on one side while his voice is on the other side, makes me think about an elastic superhero; That's what stroke me. Good mixing, Nanoweb! |
