My turn - Stringgod - 28-12-2013

Hi !

Love your guitar solos.

Chears,

Hi Carston, welcome to the forum and thanks for the compliment!

Not a bad mix...bass guitar needs some body, it's a bit too "slappy". Vocals are a little too out front and are overpowering the mix a bit.

Thanks for sharing!

Nice balance between the guitars and the drums. Smile The guitar also sounds nice and lively yet has a bit of low-end "oomph" that helps impart the power the song needs.

Speaking of "oomph," though, that bass sounds awful twangy. Might try an EQ fix, pulling down about 6 dB around 7000 Hz to tame that; that should allow you to bring it up in the mix a bit and fill out the low frequencies more, as well.

Vocals are a little loud. Usually in a song like this I'd pull the vocals back until they were only just intelligible, giving the impression the singer is trying to "scream over" the guitars which is always a good effect in heavy rock. However, in the case of your mix I think more up-front vocals might work, but I'd still pull them down about 3 dB.

Solid work overall. An enjoyable listen. Wink
