Catching Up - bmullen - 26-12-2013 Thanks for the listen and any input RE: Catching Up - sano - 26-12-2013 Great sounding well balanced mix. The vocal sounds good but the esses sound very sharp. RE: Catching Up - Jamolir - 27-12-2013 Good mix! That Slide guitar is a mess on the recording. Maybe try to roll off 5-7K to get rid of some hiss. Good work! Cheers, M RE: Catching Up - bmullen - 27-12-2013 (27-12-2013, 08:46 AM)Jamolir Wrote: Good mix! That Slide guitar is a mess on the recording. Maybe try to roll off 5-7K to get rid of some hiss. Thanks. I'll check that out. RE: Catching Up - bmullen - 27-12-2013 Spent a little more time cleaning up guitars and reducing sibilance a bit more. RE: Catching Up - thedon - 28-12-2013 listening to version 2 on the auratones ,sounds nice and balanced, the vocal and guitars sound a touch harsh around the 2-4 k area ! Thanks for the input, Don. I defintely value your eq evaluations. I'll check it out next chance I get. RE: Catching Up - bmullen - 29-12-2013 Here is my attempt at implementing Don's Eq suggestions. Thanks again, Don. RE: Catching Up - thedon - 29-12-2013 Sounds great vocal and guitars sound warmer now ! RE: Catching Up - bmullen - 08-01-2014 Decided to do something I rarely do with this one. To me the overall dynamics of this one were too great ( a rarity now a days) so I put a volume envelope on the master bus to add gain to the quiet parts to event things out just a bit more for listening in all environments. I guess technically this would fall under the mastering category more than mixing. |
