Shore - dreamy quality - BigJohn - 27-11-2013

I attempted to preserve the dreamy quality of the song in the mix. Lots of good mixes out there. This song might make a good soundtrack for a movie scene. Comments welcome.

To me it sounds like the lead voc is glued on top of the mix. It isn't part of the mix as it should be.
And in the band mix guitars could have more dominant role. Maybe more presence and a little bit of level.
And that drumstick hh part around 3:00 is really unnatural compared to the rest of the mix.

First I would focus on the lead voc. Make that part of the mix and not just the thing that goes over the mix.

Moonwrist,

Thanks for the inputs. Will attempt to improve the vocals, guitars, snare rim hits. I do think that the drummer was having a good time with them, however. Yeah, you are right in that the mix definitely does not sound like a live performance in a real room.
