Mixed it for emotion. - SearingCut - 18-11-2019

This song was mixed, instruments, vocals, and all for a singular purpose, to display the emotion. And I may have failed, but I may have also succeeded. You be the judge, did I evoke an emotion?

Hi Searing Cut - thanks for mixing our track ! The lead vocal sounds great which is the right place to focus your time. The other standout was the bridge part - really liked your choice of guitar effect. It worked for me. Intro guitar sounded good and the balance overall felt really sensible. The snare was maybe missing some weight for me - 200Hz? Bass guitar could maybe lose some 2kHz as per Mike's mix rescue article (March 2015).

I liked the chorus effect on the solo guitar - perhaps a bit heavy on it though. This is a taste comment I realize - if you were mixing it for me, I would ask it to be dialed back a bit. Is the distorted guitar lower after the first chorus? Seemed a good level when chorus 2 came in, but I was looking for more of it between chorus 1 and verse 2.

Super cool - thanks again for mixing our track !!

Thomas
