Thursday Reverie, different take from newbie - patriotbarrow - 25-07-2018

Hello there,

Submitted for review is my mixed version of this song. I'm only getting started with mixing and this is my first ambiental/experimental track.

What I've done is shape the bass line and route and automate the main synth line through an EQ.
One can no doubt also hear a few new notes in two spots, courtesy of an octaver. I know this is cheating and something a mixing engineer has no place doing, but I felt my version of the track needed it for the "coming home chord" at the end.
Didn't up the loudness as I feel an atmospheric track should have plenty of dynamic range.

This was a fun mix; hope to hear your feedback as I'm eager to improve.

Thanks!

-Dan

Dan

What a fabulous job you've done!!
You've really captured that sense of magic and awe that i was looking for - and the new notes sounded great to me!!
I'm hoping to get a few more ambient tracks to Mike for the forum in the near future.

Thanks again for such a lovely mix!!

Cheers
Ian D
