"Own Way To Boogie" (modern mixing approach) - amanhasnoname - 02-04-2018

Hi there!

As said in the title, I tried mixing and mastering this song in a modern way, much like metalcore mixes. But with dynamics... Wink

My goal was taking the mix to a place where it felt like a powerful punch in the gut, hope it worked!

Mixing sidenotes :
- I got rid of some phase issues in Overheads and Piano.
- I reamped the Bass DI and low passed it to about 150Hz, I used one of the Bass Mic tracks for the high end and brightness (cutting below +- 300Hz)
- Heavy compression on the vocals to make them "in your face", and she didn't need much more than that, she's a great singer and was really well recorded.

Leave any advice down below! Thank you for listening Wink
