Holy shit the djembe is so big.

RE: For I Am The Moon Mix - Cwidener7 - 05-06-2018

That's what she said!

I was referencing some old bob marley records and was playing around with the Waves Renaissance bass plugin.....

You think a little too much?

.....I think so. Look up Abdoul Dombaya's djembe ensemble album titled "Denbaya." I maybe spelt his first name wrong. They mixed 0 bass with the djembe's, djembe is truly an alto range instrument, if you can get some amount of "thuddy" punch on the bass tones then it feels better, rather than the ringing bass tone.

Take it with a grain of salt though because this video is going through something that effects EQ a lot, and the guy playing djembe in "I am the Moon," is not that good at it, but basically you can hear that the djembe fills a much higher register than the other drums, and in the music which it was originally intended for, no one would ever hear the sustain of a bass tone anyways.

Everything I own.... I got in a bit of trouble a few years back....I'm camping out at work to save money for equipment...I have a few preamps, mics, etc... that I've been accumulating

Oh man. And I'm sad that I can't afford flat-response headphones that go over 20,000 Hz. Well good luck.

Whats up Dan? Long time I'm finally up and running again.... I made those changes on the djembe. It came out really good....I like the maxxbass plugin but next time I need to keep the instruments natural timbre in mind. Thanks for your input..Im currently running on Cubase, windows 7, O2 headphone pre and some Sennheiser HD 800's
