G Bass project - Obelix - 03-10-2017

My first try at mixing this kind of music.

Anyone ?

Well, overall I think it sounds great. On some parts the snare jumps out. The guitar parts could benefit from some effects, as the source tracks were kind of plain, but this is personal preference. Maybe edit the hihats out from some parts, or take their overall level down, as their arrangement is somewhat busy and they're are driving through the song which makes the song feel a bit too 'busy'. Still, the overall mix and sound is very good. ^_^

Ok. What kind of fx should I put on gtrs ?

7 tracks were there for snare sound. So I went for more 80s-ish sound, maybe I should have gone with lighter sound.

I don't know. Something that makes them merge with the overall sound. Judging the levels, snare for example, is easier when done at lower listening volume, so you can easily spot if something gets lost or is very prominent. ^_^
