How To Kill A Conversation - 'Mute' - Shon's Mix - Shon - 22-08-2017

Thought I'd take a crack at this one. It was more challenging than I expected dealing with all the spill from the hats into the vocal mic. I'd be curious to hear how others dealt with this issue and of course open to any critiques you can offer this mix.

Cheers,
Shon

Sounds a littel cloudy on the low mids. The balance is ok.

I used samples on the drums and some hi frequency ducking on the overheads to tame the hihat. And lots of eq.

Thanks for the feedback jeremias. I didn't think to using ducking that way, nice tip!
