Flames"Neve1081model"MIX - SamiK - 15-03-2017

Hey,

Here's my try...
Tried to model Neve 1081 console using V-eq and V-comp as a channel strip.
Every channel chain is same, first EQ, COMP and other plug-ins.

Overall energy is pretty good, but the vocal lacks of a nice upper midrange that puts it in front of everything. You should also use a de-esser.
The kickdrum sounds kind of synthetic, with a lot of head. Therefore the kick and the snare aren't really playing together, as if they were coming from different kits.
The guitars could benefit from more character. Don't get me wrong, they already sound good. But they want a little love from you in the highs! Wink
Furthermore, you did a good job with the overall compression. Good mix.

Greets,
Mrvin

Sounds nice for me as a layman. I don't like too much slap on drums, but that's a matter of taste I guess.

Sometimes vocals are a bit pumping maybe. Some syllables come forward, others go backwards.

I think it has a spectacular balance. As Marvin said, just an improve on guitars and vocals highs, and gluing together kick and snare may do the trick. And maybe a slightly bigger stereo field.
