Dire Straits? yeah, I hear the resemblance "lady Writer". James still reminds me of TomP in this song.
I've noticed that you've put that slide guitar in the middle. Works Well.
Maybe a little extra fat on the snare would be good.

So, it's seems to me, don't know why
The snare haunts me(and kick too). I failed to achieve the desired result. I even wanted to use samples, but decided to leave the original.
