"Slow down" - my mix and my first thread here - ncs - 24-05-2016

Hi there,

a big hello from Northern Germany. I am new to this message board, after i found out about the mixing files site (thanks for doing this).
After scrolling through the files, i liked "Slow Down" the most due to its R&B-flavor - so i did a mix of it. Would be great to get some feedback on it.

Hello Ncs

I have not touched this song yet but here are a few observatios

*Balances are good
*Back vocals are sounding too dry for me.. did you put reverb at all?
*Snare is sounding rather thin... I would boost a bit more 100hz
*I like the tone you got on the guitars
*bass sounds very good with the rest of the mix.

overall this is pretty solid Smile keep it up.

Hi Shul,

thank you for the reply.
For the backing vocals, i was kinda unsure, where to place them. So i reached out for a short delay - but still knowing, that this might not work out well Wink So i'll give it a second try.
For the snare, i didn't like the sound of the original one. Due to the fact, that i didn't have a snare like Blues Brothers for triggering and mixing that in, i had to use the original snare as it was. So it was a little bit personal taste to let it thin. But anyway- i'll give that a second try, too.

What makes me happy, is that you called it solid and that you liked the bass.

Thanks,
Nico
