Patric Talbot UpperHand - Alexander - 13-05-2016 Hi everybody! RE: Patric Talbot UpperHand - ptalbot - 16-05-2016 Not a bad effort, but there's a few things that could be better I think: - The overall sound is rather dull and low-end heavy. Some top-end air would help the mix, I think. - The acoustic could use some low shelf/high pass, they sound rather muddy - You did some tuning of the vocals (which was called for, I know), but have completely changed the melody of the 'ah ah' after the verses, which is not for the better. You could listen to the reference mix to get an idea of the intended melody. - at 3:15 before the chorus reprise, I don't know what happened but there's a blank that sounds quite odd. - the mix sound rather mono-ish, I'm wishing for some width that is lacking here. Overall, some work to do still to get a more agreeable mix. Keep it up! RE: Patric Talbot UpperHand - Alexander - 11-06-2016 Hi, Patrick! As you this option? RE: Patric Talbot UpperHand - ptalbot - 15-06-2016 Much better Alexander! The only nitpick I have is that the lead vocal is buried at times (especially during the fuller parts with horns and bgvs), I think a little push and some automation could help keeping up top. And the lead guitar at the end could get a couple db push as well. Apart from that, quite an improvement. Good job! |
