Lindy Hip Big Band: 'The Opener' - therecordingguy - 25-10-2015

My first attempt at big band mixing

I do like you bass sound. Clean but present. The first couple of seconds of the track should be cut. Also, you might want to revisit your balance of the saxes around 1:15 or so. The lead is getting buried by the 2nd alto.

A nice solid mix. Thanks for sharing.

Nice bold tones going on here. Well Done! Solid mix. If anything it sounds a little too dry for me though. I like that concert hall sound and ambience that is found on a lot of earlier big band recordings that I'm familiar with. But hey thats purely personal and based on a lot of mixes here, is not everyones cup of tea. Great work.
