My 1st mix of Angels in Amplifiers - I'm Alright - Tomoflong - 14-06-2015

Ok here is my 1st mix of the 1st song I've mixed from the selection on this website.

Let me know what you all think, would really appreciate the feedback.

Thanks!

Hi!

I think the balance in general it's weird. A lot of things sounding distant, specially the drums.
For example: you could hear in the front the percussion arrangements, but it's hard to hear the drums except the bass drum.
I suppose that you put some kind of eq in the master putting the treble up. It makes everything harsh, so be careful with that!

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply. It's hard to know if it sounds any good as there isn't anyone else to play the track to. Hence me posting on here. I added a compression to the master which is probably what boosted the high ends. I'll try to bring the overall levels up to give it more punch, especially on the drums. I think I did the error of focusing on the wrong parts as apposed to the whole mix. What would you recommend for getting that modern sounding 'fullness'?
