I've been practicing music since I was 9. Always enjoyed playing with gear, building up mix tapes back in the days. Had my first guitar when I was 15, and got into metal pretty quickly.
As a fan of sound gear and tech, I ended up recording raw live reharsal sessions for my band in the end of 90s and trying to mix them. It felt so satisfying I went more into mixing and I did a few demos for both my band and other bands, as a total self taught, made loooots of crap and mistakes but still pretty much enjoyed it.
After a 15 years pause, finding my old track sessions, I decided to remix a few of them, but this time found such incredible resources on the internet, showing me what crap I did but also conforted me in some of my own findings, got the motivation to keep going for a while.
I'm not a big fan of over thinking everything; if it sounds good, it is good. My references are: Andy Wallace, Dave Sardy and Terry Date (that drum souuuuund dude) |
