Hey all,

Here's my mix. There's nothing too special about this one, but I thought I'd go with a different approach with the vocals and get them all together with a good '80s vibe.

See what you think. I focused primarily on the main part of the track and didn't take much notice of the beginning, so it might not sound great. Anyway, more feedback the merrier!
Hi Laurence,

The overall balance between each track is pretty good. However I noticed 3 main issues.

First is edition. We can hear some recording artefacts here and there (for example the buzz from rhythmic guitar in the intro). They should be removed before anything else. But the main problem here is the groove. Sometimes there is like a little delay between instruments. This is normal as they're played by humans, but the overall feeling is quite strange.

Secondly, I find the overall EQ too much hi-fi. It looks like the mids took some vacations Cool

Finally, there is to me too much compression. It's like someone is squeezing everybody and saying : stay down boy !

Thanks for the feedback, I'll bear it mind next time when I've got something that sounds like it needs fixing up a little bit.

I've got a tendency to go crazy with the mids and compresion. I'm trying my best to stay clear a little bit. It's so bright, it's like staring into the sun!
I like the sizzly, compressed (ALMOST pumping, almost breathing) feeling to the track but this does present issues dynamically in many songs, though this isn't one of them due to the arrangement; the cymbals do kinda swallow some important parts of the mix. Bring the cymbals back in the mix. Simply a volume issue for me.

Also, where the hell did that solo go? x) I can hear it but it's so faint! Perhaps you took it out and my psychology is making me think I can hear it Tongue Solid stab at this mix though. Really old school themed track mixed to make it sound like a much more modern song.
