Great song and so much fun to mix.
You should try it !
I learned so much from this and tried gentle M/S mastering.
Wont write a book about it now but hit me if you want to know details.
Looks like you have a handle on the M/S thing. This sounds good. Clean with some good low end power. I started the song before I put the headphones on and could hear the impact. If you move up on the Mid HP somewhere around 35Hz, you may get a little more focus and impact out of the kick. Love the classic rock vibe. If this were a modern in your face song you can LP at 20kHz to gain even more focus. When you LP at 20kHz it takes the filtering load off of the converters in your DAC. Most consumer converts have poor filtering and alias creeps in to the signal to add distortion.

Forgot to mention. Use very steep slopes, 48db works well most of the time.
Just saw last line, that is good info - as I never use hard filtering like that. Gotta give it a go with your suggestions. Thank you m8 Big Grin
Good mix,I think the kick could be a bit more up there I would sidechain myself etc I would also sidechain the guitars and vocal.
Still great mix here good work.A bit more snare I think its very low in the mix and should be pushing the track along more
it needs a lot more attack and a bit more top end bite
I agree about the kick Alan, heard another mix of this with a killer kick and I plan to make a mix 2. Do you really think the vocal needs that ? I will try it and if I like it I will do it, but I can hear it fine all way through. its automated a lot though, maybe that wasnt necessary if i sidechained a guitarcomp from vocal track. Thanx for sharin your thoughts !
Did some more eq sculptin to the kick and snare and raised their volume, thx to Alans advice. Also added a tad more his to S channel and little more to bus eq, to brighten it a bit. Also made the M channel locut steeper (48dB) and higher, 30,5 Hz, S is locut at 120 Hz with 18 DB. That M/S thing is really powerful and easy to set up, once you get the idea.
Now I think leadvocal is half a dB too soft and I may make another version, especially if someoe agrees on that Big Grin

I like this mix - thank you for the help !
That is like night and day when comparing the two mixes. This mix has some real power on the computer speakers. Sound really good. I will check it out on the mains. Most mixes can see instant benefits from master M/S filtering. Did you do a LP at 20kHz on both M and S also? The Lead Vcl may need to come up a little or maybe EQed to come forward.
Thx ! Yes I tried that lopass 20k you mentioned.
May give it a go with 35 or higher hipasfilter when I make the version with voice little louder, brighter or both. Thank you for the great tips !

yo dude,

you may need to revise the reverb on the vocal, i don't think it's only a matter of pushing the fader up involved here Wink

happy weekend Smile

Yah a suggestion. I wonder is the verb too much too little too dark too long too short.
Would be little easier understandin you if it were more specific. I think
