Here's my master of Boat Road..  cool song Smile
My aim was to make the overall tone a bit rounder, not quite as bright and push the mids forward a little.  I think this makes the vintage sound a bit more convincing.

Any feedback always appreciated!
Cheers!

Hey Wibley,

like the vibe your going for though and dont want to be mean or discouraging, but I think this mix is a bit of a mess.
There is a lot of distracting high end reverb (snare and hi-hat) for example. The bass also sounds very bloated.
I'd suggest using some kind of commercial mix as reference.

Cheers,

The mix isn't mine though, this is the mastering forum.  have you heard the original master and the original mix? cheers Smile
Last time I checked this was primarily a mixing forum. Whose mix is it, if it isnt yours? Do you have a link?
Hi!

It's ok - I've noticed a few people getting a little confused.

There are now two major forum sections - one for mixing, and another for mastering.

Mike Senior has kindly provided a huge number of unmastered tracks to download, alongside the mixes - so people can practice their mastering skills as well.

If you check the blue links at the top of the page, you can double check to see if you are in the mixing or mastering forum.

Hope that helps explain things a bit!

Cheers!
