Hi there is my version of the song. Mixed in the box
Hi MrRoss,
I like your mix, It sounds good.
Here are some Technical thoughts that come to mind while listening on my monitors and headphones.
The bottom could have a touch more punch by boosting the bass guitar a couple of DB around the 50 -100hz area and bringing the kick drum into the centre Channel as can hear a lot of bottom end of the Kick in the side Channels causing a phase Issue.
The Panned acoustic guitar sounds a touch full in the side Channels below around 200-300 Hz area
Can hear some boxy frequencies with the Kick above 130hz which taming may help sit better in the mix.
Maybe a little more De-essing around 7-8 k on the vocals!

I Can Post or Send you my mastered version of your Mix if you Like !
Nice Mixing
Cheers Big Grin

Hey Mr.Ross,

you have a good starting point.
I agree with thedon on the acoustic guitar. As he already commented on a few technical things, I hope you dont mind me suggesting some other aspects.

Overall your mix sounds a bit tame to me, as the vocals are pretty loud in comparison to the rest of the mix. Pop songs are usually a lot more compressed and glued together, which you dont have to do, but I would consider a step in that direction.
Your panning choices are definitely not typical, which is not at all a bad thing, if you have a clear vision in mind. You could try panning the drums and bass center for a more traditional sound.

Also out of interest: How loud do you mix?
I suspect you are mixing volume is quite loud, due to your prominent mid-range and vocal and "lack" of bottom and high end.

Cheers,
Lukas Angel
Hi
thanks boths for the good tips and encorament! I try do do some improv in this mix! I had a lot of gain on voice (but I love to put it on very front)

Actually I suspect my monitor are a bit too close from my hear and make probably some proximity effects!

My point of you on this second verse is it s more compact but I m a bit sad having loosed a bit of air and natural...no?

Thedon I dloved if you try to masterise my tune but I already put some stuff on my master bus...

Thanks again Ross
I have a pair of Eris8 and mix with volume on 0 on monitor and half way on my ID22.
I touk some distant and mix with less volume: really help to have a sound more punchy!

Tell me wath do you think of mix2
Thanks
