Here are two slightly different versions, one is done purely from going where the material took me and the other one is after having adjusted the first version more in line with the suggested reference track. The different versions give quite a different feeling, although all main aspects of the mix is quite the same. Hope you enjoy it and please leave a comment!

Hi!

As you've already heard, I really struggled (and failed) with this track for many reasons, and on many levels - So, I don't think I am in any position to pass judgement on any mixes of this track really, but I'll give it a shot anyway....

Mix 02a:

I think all I can offer is that in comparison with the example mix, I feel you could perhaps try to bring the kick, snare and vocals forward in the mix a bit more perhaps? Certainly the snare is getting buried a bit? Maybe bring the vocal forward, but kind of leave the vocal reverb level where it is? Also comparing the two, I think the example mix does have a bit more energy in the 4k+ region too?

Of course, this does all depend on what your thoughts are regarding the example mix, and what your vision is for this track. Apologies - I don't feel I've helped much, but hope it might be of some use.

Best of luck,

Cheers!

Your thoughts are appreciated and valid. Feedback from other people or just listen through another system or room is valuable, so I value all comments highly. Thanks!
Hi

Overall tone is nice.

In my opinion, however, the drums are too pulled back and the guitar, on the other hand, is too loud.

Obviously this is a song, which has so many options - which is nice - and maybe you just chose to take it in another direction than I did Wink No matter what, I think you've done a nice job here

It is always interesting to here how different people transforms a song when mixing.

Thank you very much for the feedback!
