Here's for all my salty mates...

Not much to say abut it, did scoop out some around 500 or so on the vox, seems like the Telefunken proto mic is just a bit boxy (or is it my old crusted ears?) I won't be buying one of them... (for sure) anyway, just a mix to my taste, and sorta mastered with BX Masterdesk.

Hope you find it somewhat listenable.

Hi Mongo,

This is certainly listenable. It has a lovely relaxed feel that suits the genre. Now for me the main issue I'm hearing in the mix is there is too much low end <150hz in the side channels. This for me, makes the mix sound likes it's floating around a bit and makes the bass sonics generally sound undefined. I have attached a version of your mix with the bass frequencies highpassed in the side channels up to 150hz. With this in place, you should be able hear just grounded and tight the mix now sounds. This seems to have a positive affect on the overall mix including the drums and instruments. Oh, I'm finding the gated noise sound throughout the song quite distracting. I reckon there's got to be a better way of trying to minimalising this noise.

I hope you find these comments helpful.

Thanks for your input, I suppose the gated effect is actually my manually editing the tracks to reduce the bleed, but I think I got a bit too over-zealous... wish Telefunken would break out the gobos for sure.

Took a look at my Masterdesk settings, seems I left the mono maker at 70 HZ. Sounded much better at 180 and the compression at 93% (rather than off) since I stem mastered and didn't need more compression! Ya, the bass I tried an experiment and duplicated the DI and put waves loair on it, but seems to have caused a lot of unexpected antiphasing issues on the Paz meter, and since I didn't highpass, the low end is really crazy maybe best left for EDM Wink

Cheers!
