This song appealed to me. Gave it a whirl. Thanks for listening.
Pretty good, maybe a little muffled or restrained (cannot tell if it's a stereo placement or a spectrum thing, maybe a little of both).

Bass does its job, but could use some more mids and articulation. It's very well played, with fingers and an attitude so it's a shame to give it the background treatment.

And the right side feels kinda empty. The organ seems to be halfway there, but seems to be stereo or faux stereo or something that just feels to ethereal. Keeping it all mono and right panned could help give the mix some more earthy feel, more in line with the gritty and tapey vibe everything else has.

The reverb in the backing vocals could use some LC, or a less churchy algorithm to fit better with the main vocal, but that's a very minor thing.

Thanks for the feedback. I made some adjustments, hopefully for the better.

Learning to use a new DAW in the process, Studio One.
listened to mix 2.... i think a big improvement over mix 1 in terms of balance and instrument levels. The bass and drums now drive the song with much more energy and the guitars fill out the stereo field in a much more defined and confident manner. Good job there.

You have been successful in making the mix less muddy but perhaps now it sounds a bit bright. The main culprit seems to be the snare which is tonally imbalanced - too much top end and not enough thump so sounds a bit papery.

the vox could maybe do with some low end notches to remove resonance and smidge of air to open it.

big improvement over mix 1 .... keep it up!

Cheers
