Been a while ...
Listenin back I realize that the piano dies in mono, as its a stereo file I guess I will have to learn how tho deal with that, but later.
Funny, cause I made good use of airwindows excellent phase nudge plugin, and forgot abut the piano. Argh.
Im quite happy with how it turned out, perhaps the snare is a tad loud, then again thats very 80 ish and thes ong speaks 80s to me.
Look forward to your clever advice !
Sounds great ,Huge sounding mix nice effects, Yes the snare is a tad loud but sounds good .
Maybe the lead vocal delay sounds a touch too much , the backing vocals sound great !
Good Job Big Grin!
Now that you mentioned the 80s aspect (I personally used the latest Chili Peppers record as reference) this song sort of reminds me little bit of Rainbow's "Since You Been Gone". Smile

I personally feel that the drums are quite overpowering and comparably roomy (even in 80s standards) in this one. I think that could be solved simply by turning the room mics down little bit (to me it sounds little bit distracting when the room mics are louder than the close mics because you hear the room snare as the main sound, and the close mic becomes a pre-ring).

Also it would be great if the other instruments could somehow be given similar spacyness (if only just a little bit), now the roomyness of drum gets accentuated against the dry guitars. (If that was something you deliberately strived for, you succeeded and in that case never mind Smile)

I really like those delay things that you put here (and love the fact that it's not synced to midi, gives the song a really alive feel). That is when they're not stepping on any other stem's toes. Mainly talking about the feedback at the start of second and third verse (after guitar solo). I wonder if you could make those delays little less distracting in those parts (perhaps automating the return down there). I think the main reason why it feels distracting is the fact that the lead vocal is processed with some reverb (and detune/chorus?) while the delay feedback is bone dry, and therefore ends up being more upfront.

I think the end "pappada"Confused were a really cool addition (and the end actually starts to make some sense now). But perhaps take the effort little bit further and slice and nudge the different parts (the "pa"Confused and the "da"Confused Big Grin) so that they won't get too back end of the beat. At the moment it still sounds more like a placeholder ("someday we'll track the real pappada's and it'll sound great!").
Thank you m8. Those are very good suggestions and the kind of feedback really manin this place shine. Difrent ears hear difrent things and so se all learn. Kinda busy right now with ogher things but when I get a chance your suggestions will be of priority. Appreciated God bless and thanks.
Great mix in my opinion! I love the delays despite the volume but that's something that you can change in a second! Smile
Thank you JuanJose. I have made a mix b with the suggestions and it does make a more easy mix to listen to.
Also the timin issues Spede pointed out does good for the outro, which is a little faster than the rest o the song (which is not played to a click) and I had missed some o the dabadas :-)
Mix 02a of this little song which begin to sound quite ok, thanks to great feedback. Thank you Spede. I guess i had been listening too much to Springsteens "Born in the USA" as it hasnt been out of the cd palyer in the bandbus for quite a while :-)

Roommics down some 1.5 dB. automated echo return 2nd verse and 3rd verse.
Gave organ 0.7 dB more in outro, it made more sense.
gave guitars a tad more verb. Thinned 2nd vocal, as it were a little too front. Moved "badada" to fit the slightly faster tempo in the outro. I actually love that the song isnt recorded to a click. It breathes.
Very good mix,nice space.
Very nice. Once again, very creative work Smile
Hi, sorry for the newbie question here, but how do I know the bpm of each song to import the tracks into PT correctly? Thanks guys! Great sounding mixes here!
