Hey what's up guys. Here's my 1 hour rough draft for this epic sounding song. I didn't use any reverbs and just a delay on the ukulele and the acoustic. I panned symmetrical elements hard left and right, and kept some elements straight down the middle. No automation yet, just eq, compression on the buses and some inserts, and an eq and limiter on the master bus. I have about 11 major busses, and a bunch of sub busses feeding into those. I had to high pass probably all the electric guitars at least a little because their was a lot of rumble and such. I re-amped one of the bass guitar inserts, and turned up the strings, keys, and acoustic elements. I'm trying to work faster and more efficiently, so I've started using the top down approach instead of throwing a channel strip on every insert, and just mix into a bus, and use insert processing where needed. I think its more instinctive for me, and oddly easier on the CPU.

Cheers for Beers!

Here's a 10 minute tweak

Added a reverb, adjusted some high pass filters, some eq cuts and adjusted some compression settings. Just to clean up the low end and some fundamental frequency congestion.

Hey mike, I defiantly like mix 2 better as the low end sounds much better after you made your tweaks. Great job !

Hey Sano, thanks for listening, I wanted to clean it up a bit and hopefully that hit the spot. That was a cool song to mix wasn't it?

Sounds good! I think the shakers could go down, and near the ending the acoustic guitar feels a bit dominating. Still, sounds very good. Nice job!

Hey Kapu, thanks for listening and commenting. I will give it another listen and check the things you mentioned. I realize its important to pay special attention to the tops and tails of mixes. I guess it's similar to animation where it's necessary to ease in and out of certain movements to make them more artistic and interesting.
