Hey guys/girls,

I am new to this forum and this is the first mix I have uploaded. I'm not sure how this all works but, if at all possible I would greatly appreciate some feedback/constructive criticism on my mix.

Thank's in advance.
Welcome to this Awesome forum !
I like your mix it sounds pretty well balanced the overall level is a little too soft as had to crank up my amp a lot louder than usual Smile,The guitar intro sounds a touch thin with some transients popping out around 1.5k to 4k area and hi pass filtered at around 250 hz .
I think the guitars and entire mix would sound fuller if you could move the high pass down lower like somewhere around 100 and tame some upper transients with a dynamic eq and maybe pan the guitars for some stereo more width and help the vocal effects in the side channels .
The piano sounds nice and full and the bass sound great ,Can hear some mid bass bass frequencies competing for space I might be just the boxy mid of the kick between 100 and 3k and Taming the room or overheads around 400- 500hz.
The upper frequencies sounds a little wooshy , I think if you could upload 320mp3 might sort that out !

Just some thoughts while having a listen !

Cheers Big Grin
Hey there,

first of all welcome Big Grin

I like your mix it's very balanced and smooth sounding. But I agree with Jon the guitars would benefit from having more low-end and maybe also being turned up slightly.

Furthermore the sounds Piano overcompressed (if you listen at 3:37) and the Drums are a bit mid-range heavy, would like some more lows.
A minor thing (which is up to song and personal taste) is the kick, which has a little bit too much "smack" for me. (120Hz and above) I would like to here a bit more of the body (60-80Hz).

The vocal could be tucked into the mix a bit more as it sits on top of the mix rather then in the mix if that makes sense.

And as Don already mentioned export a bit hotter next time Wink

Cheers,
LukasAngel

Hey Dude, sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I have been really busy preparing a portfolio for the next college I hope to attend.

Thank's for your awesome and very much appreciated advice. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to go back to this mix yet because I am trying to mix 'Arise - Run, Run, Run' at the moment - and not very successfully I might add (nailing the bassline is a killer).

That being said, when I do revisit the mix I will take on board your advice.

Cheers.

Hey, thanks for the feedback Dude. I will take your advice into consideration when I revisit the mix with fresh ears.
