Hiii cool trance song! Smile i really like it, i tried to get high volume without wrecking it totally, was really hard this time i think, tell me what you think, might be to litle overall punch in kick etc and a bit harsh??

I did a second masterversion now, i thought it might was too hot.
Mix one (the top version) seems to have a lot of distortion on the bass line, which makes it pop right out, but there is also the aliased/bit crushed effects and sounds which seem a bit hot in the mix. Version 2 has the melodic loop a bit louder, and the distortion on the bass a touch more subtle (watch it turn out that you did t change it at all and I’m hearing things!)....there are still a few effects that seem a touch too loud, but this is a solid first attempt at this song which has some really cool little background sounds that you added that I really like. Keep refining it if you like it and have time....the more creative and different from the original the better I think.
Hey Jimmy! Yes i wasn't to keen on making it any different since i felt like my job as a engineer is to work with what i already got and only enhance it, but yeah could maybe try another version and add some stuffs to the production. Yes it turned out alot better and "clear" when i backed the master and made some small changes to the instruments individually.

The thing is, the raw tracks themselves are WAY out of wack in comparison to how they sit in the original mix...and I've started to mix it from the project files myself and have a hard time reconciling the different levels needed to bring it into proper balance.

Good to know. I always mix my own work, as you’ve heard, I’m simply talking about what happens when you open your DAW and import these as-is. When they were created they were balanced as they were made....Nuendo 4’s export feature is pre-fader and pre effects, etc....so the project here is MUCH different than the original project. THAT SAID: I’ve heard some very solid work from you and wouldn’t mind your take on my work.

Tell you what, I’m in the middle of a track now....I’ll hand it off to you without giving you my final mix. You can mix it the best way you know how and we can PM or email back and forth.

I like that auto panning in the breakdown but I wish you'd turn the bass arp a little louder in that section (it's a really cool riff you know) Wink
