Here's some more information about the project from its Grammy-nominated producer Stefano Amerio:
  • These tracks were recorded at Artesuono Recording Studios. The original tracks were recorded using the preamps of an Otari Elite+ console. Little or no EQ was used during tracking, and the following compressors were used lightly:
    • Drawmer DL241/ DL251 - Kick and Snare
    • Drawmer DL441 - Electric Bass, Guitars and Percussion
    • Daking Fet III - Double Bass
    • Urei 1176 mod. by Bob Alach - Snare on W.I.N.D. tracks
    • Summit Audio TLA100 A - Brass and Vocals

  • Microphones used vary per project, but typical choices at Artesuono include:
    • Kick: Neumann U47ifet / Shure Beta 52 / Shure Beta 91 / CAD E100 (jazz kit) / Yamaha Sub Kick
    • Snare Up: Akg 451 (jazz kit) / Shure Beta 57 / Audix i5 / Heil PR20
    • Snare Down: Shure Beta 98
    • Toms: Audio Technica AT3000 / Sennheiser MD421
    • Overheads: Schoeps CMC64 / DPA 4011
    • Room: Neumann TLM103 / Speiden Stereo Ribbon
    • Percussion: Neumann TLM103 / Schoeps CMC64
    • Doublebass: Neumann U87ai
    • Doublebass DI: Radial JD48
    • Electric Bass: Radial JD48 D.I. / Neumann U47ifet / Shure SM57
    • E. Bass Room: Neumann U87 (vintage)
    • Electric Guitar: Akg C414 B-uls / Neumann U47ifet / Shure SM57 / Speiden Stereo Ribbon / Cascade Ribbon
    • Piano In: Schoeps CMC64 ORTF
    • Piano Out: Neumann USM69 Stereo XY
    • Trumpet & Sax Akg The Tube
    • Trombone U47ifet
    • Voices Manley Gold Reference / Neumann TLM103

  • This project's release mix was carried out 'in the box' and mastered using a TC Electronics Finalizer 96+ and a Waves BCL Maxx.
