Love this track

Overall quite satisfied. There is always stuff to improve. What doesn´t fall to your liking? Will probably revisit this sometime and experiment a bit with other reverbs.

As I did with the last song that I mixed (I am Cassettes - Believe), I provide a link to the mix with less processing on the 2bus, for you to download and remaster if you want. Please upload any remaster and tell us what you did. We all want to know your best tips and tricks when it comes to mastering. This time I removed from the 2bus...
wideening(stock mid/side)
compressor(Waves API2500)
deesser(FabFilter Pro-MB)
and vcc mixbus
All was on from pretty much the start so... I don´t think I would send it at this state to a mastering engineer. Check out this link.. ME doesn´t mind recieving limited version!?! I thought that was a big no,no.
Do the remaster from this
I like it the way it is.
But if you decide to work with this some more, maybe the bass-kick separation/interaction could be better. (Maybe that's a cheap comment as that can be said to almost anybody's mix anytime anywhere.)
But anyway, sounds good.
I´ll take your bass-kick seperation note with me, maybe not this mix but the next. Thanks for taking the time replying.
Sounds pretty good here mange !
Good jobBig Grin
your mix is very good! all instruments sound very clear and with good separation. I also paid close attention to the claps because of the editing you told me you had done and compared it with mine. I can say that your claps sound more realistic. I think I'll copy your technique and apply to my future mixes Big Grin

I've downloaded your mix and I will try to master it tomorrow. Let's see what I can do!
Those claps... it didn´t went as easy as I first thought it would. To anybody wondering... I made a duplicate of the claptrack and used the scissors to divide it into three sections, before, after and during breakdown. I moved each section one clap late and moved the last clap of each section to act as first clap of its section. Some of the claps got a bit loose so I went in to nudge just those claps to match the timing of the source clap track. Soloed in and discovered that in more places than one the exact same clap was copied & pasted used up to three, four times in a row in the sourcetrack, and when those got duplicated in the stereofield it got quite a bit phasey. I had to do a lot more editing than I first anticipated.
I didn´t pan them 100% but later in the "mastering" phase when referencing, I widened my mix to be in the same ballpark as the reftrack, claps probably got more or less 100% anyhow.

Used the same technique on gangvox and doohs.
