This conceptmix was a bit of a experiment for me. First of all, mixing it 100% in Reaper, only using the available plugins that come with the program, including the reverb! I was suprised at the level of creativity I got from not having to scroll through a zillion plugins that felt right for the job. Second; because i mixed it with a tablet (Dell, windows) and using only a BeyerDynamic headphone as my monitoring...So a bit of guesswork for the lower frequenties...I used a lot of highpass filtering just to be save.
I kept the trackprocessing to a minimum. Mostly only using EQ and a bit of compression to keep the mix as clean as possible. The tracks that came with the song where very well recorded, so it didn't need much. The main vocals all go through a very basic effectchain (room verb, short delay, long delay and the classic pitch/delay trick for some stereospread). If you like, give me some feedback!
