Okay, so this tune was the first mix I did on this forum. It was okay but not up to snuff. After a little more practice, I've gone back and reworked this. I kept the same effects and voicing (because they worked for me) but went back and set the tone from scratch as well as fixing how I treated the guitars in the stereo spread since I didn't understand what both the band and the engineer had done when they recorded it. (One guitar feeding two amplifiers, two mics on each amp. quassi double. You can see this by zooming in tight and looking at the phase relationship of the two pairs of tracks.)
Anyhow, I haven't had a chance to give this the "laptop test" yet but it ought to be pretty close. (The best test for what sticks out as just *wrong* seems to be the $40 Sony earbuds I bought connected to the laptop I use at the office. It's very weird but it works.)
