My Etc. Mix

Hello Cambridge Community!

This is my first time sharing any mixes on the site, and what better way to break me in than on the ever-popular Etc by Complainiacs!

Let me know what you think. I'm completely open to constructive criticism. I'm going to start taking a crack on some of the other tracks in the Library. This is just too much fun.

The guitars have a chainsaw sound that gets harsh pretty quick.

The cymbals are too trashy too.

Yeah, you're right on the guitars, though the cymbals I wanted to keep a little trashy. It's a punk song, and I felt that as a punk song, it shouldn't get the crisp clean sound of, say, an R&B track. I also added a mastering plug-in at the end of the chain to see what it would sound like. Definitely more harmonics than I cared for were added.

I'm posting the original track here, sans anything on the master buss. I agree the guitars sounded a little too harsh, but I was going for harsh. Just wanted to put that out there.
