Dark Ride - Burning Bridges (thelongestyear)
#1
Here's my take on this piece.
Too bad they didn't include bass DI. Apparently, they did and it was recorded through a pedal. The vocal is quite raspy (maybe some ribbon mic would do the trick). Guitars are a bit harshy for my liking too.
But whatever, don't bite the hand that feeds you multitracks. Smile
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Cheers!

Fixed a couple of things here and there. I reckon that would be my final mix.

Nice job on the mix.

The Sub Drop/Bang(?) at 3:03 seems a bit out of place, maybe bring it down a few notches in dB, at the moment it hits you out of nowhere, I do like the timing placement on it though.

The experimentation on the clean spoken vocals is interesting...the second part could use a little more of the dry vocal to clean it up a bit, make it a little less harsh and clearer, increase volume perhaps?

I like the guitars tone, not sure if it overpowers the drums a little though at some points for example the verses and breakdown after solo (In my opinion try to make this quite powerful and punchy). You could also maybe sit the Rhythm guitars back behind the lead a little more when it kicks in.
