Hi All,
This was my first Hip Hop mix. With the kick, I high-passed it and replaced the low-end with a gated tone gen set at 50hz. I felt this really tightened the kick up.
The vocals also required more mid-range. I used a combination of saturation, eq and compression to achieve this.
I feel my mix is a bit scooped in the upper mids, but I feel this 'softer' sound kinda works in this song.
