Glad I got to work on this right after 'Get Out Of Bed'. I actually think I prefer the recording of that to this one. Not a very huge fan of this drum recording I'd say, and the bass is quite hard to work with, but hey that's not for me to judge. Anyway, here's what I came up with. References to this mix are BMTH 'Mantra', and Metric 'Black Sheep'. I'd say this style is quite a bit of an acquired taste, especially the vocals so you may want to check out the reference tracks first before jumping into the mix. Thanks.
I'd actually brighten the guitars to match the brightness of the drums, mainly the cymbals. I don't really think the mix is too bright, but maybe the cymbals being a lot brighter and jumping out on the crashes sounds unbalanced?
Agree on the vocals, they can come forwards a little more.
