My third mix ever
#1
Had fun with this one. Had good tracks to work with.
I replaced all the drums with my samples using Steven Slate trigger. The drums sound massive if I do say so myself. The new Native Instruments "RAUM" reverb plugin on the reverb bus. (I highly suggest)
Bass DI went into Neural DSP Parallax plugin which is amazing.
Most effects and processing is analog.
IGS Rubberbands on the kick sample using the "Pultec low-end trick"
Two Neve 551 EQ's on the guitar bus boosting 8k 3DB and cutting 9k by 2DB. Mainly just using these for the transformer saturation.
BAE 1073 on the snare boosting mids and highs and using the HP filter to cut below 70htz.
Vocals through Waves Vocal rider then into a Pultec boosting the highs a few DB.
drum bus going through a cheap ART Pro VLS opto compressor (which also sounds kILLER for $300). I put Mullard tubes in it and made a bit of a difference in the tightness of the low end. Im using WAves RTL6 EQ to notch the nasties out of a few things. Focusrite red compressor on bass.
The entire mixed is being summed with Waves Non-Linear Summer.
Then the stereo mix is going through my Heritage Audio Successor bus compressor.
Give me some honest feedback.
I could have eased up on the bus compression a bit I think. Its a learning process.
