Big mix. It sounds pretty cool. I think the bus compressor/limiter is being hit maybe a bit too hard but it does give it a bit of a vinyl sound. But the mix does feel dynamic. Maybe it's a submix comp on the drums? I'm not sure. I kinda want some more stereo excitement from the drums but I get why you have them pretty centered. That said, I could hear the OHs or toms or whatever widening up on the chorus to add to the width of the section.
The lead guitar in the second verse eclipses the vocal in the second verse. It has a solo later so it's fine for it to take a backseat then and let the vocal be the focus. Maybe there's too much beater on the kick? is that cliche to say at this point?

Other than that it feels great. It's got a sound and I think this song benefits from that sound.

Hey Don, this sounds really good! Roy nailed down my thoughts pretty well.

FWIW, of the mixes I have heard so far, you handled the solo/build to the breakdown bridge part the most musically. There is a lot of automation needed in that part to create dynamics that are sympathetic to the arrangement, so I'm guessing you took your cues from the preview mix.

Nice work!

Mix very liked. All well, except one-wheezing. Let me guess. You used the Waves NLS plugin, NLS Buss is on the master bus and is set to SPIKE mode. It is in this mode, the plugin has a feature to publish such wheezes, if the DRIVE knob is set too high. Maybe you should fix it.

Wow. Loud. Loud. Good. Loud. Good!!!

I did not use any buss compression on my mix. I think I'll go throw one in and have some fun! See what kind of gems I can unearth!

Hi Don
Very Good mix!! Smile I feel that the drums are a bit too open but perhaps it is matter of taste. Nice dynamic, Good clarity. The song goes nicely musically. Well done! Cheers!
