Evening After Work Mix !
#1
Here's my feel/instinct mix of this song. I encountered a stupid small mistake which I only noticed it at mixdown and fixed Smile (kind of boggled my mind for a moment and made me wonder what the hell was happening)

Please do let me know what you think of this and enjoy the talent I mixed ! Smile

Cheers !

Wow...

Not sure if I'm gonna stab at this one. Though I do like to play with songs with excellent tracking.

Thanks for the reply ! I'm glad you liked it !

It was indeed well recorded and performed, which makes the mixing more fun and more inspired and focused on mixing Smile

Give it a shot, it's a cool song with lots of talent !

Hi there i liked the overall sound of the drums and bass, i think the vocals can be more up front and the acoustic guitars are panned too hard Left for my taste and it is a bit distracting.

Keep it up!!

Cheers!

Thanks ! I appreciate the feedback !

If I remember correctly, I panned the acoustic guitars hard left because I felt like I needed to keep the center for vocals and low end , and I'd keep the guitars on the left and right so they are almost in symmetry and also this will give me a wide stereo image, they were the only things I felt I could "safely" pan hard left and hard right to fill the image. And in the chorus, I don't know if you noticed, I brought back the scratch acoustic guitar track to add contrast and impact as well as to give a perhaps wider sound of acoustic guitar. As for the electric, there a delay on the opposite channel during choruses, very subtle just again to fill up the image even more and give a bigger ish sound to the chorus for impact Smile

I think that was what i felt sounded good and helped contrast different parts of the song.

Who knows, maybe i'll hate this mix next week haha or in a year or two.

Sometimes you need to pan things completely wide and it works well.

Keep up the good work!!

Cheers!!
