Throw this mix back down the well

I've been trying to get some practice with heavier music so I tried this one out. It didn't really agree with me on so many levels and so much of it keeps teetering on brittle.

I blended the original guitars with some re-amped DIs and used the drum samples provided with the track. Also threw in some cliche effects here and there.

For anybody that has mixed this song, I would appreciate some advice on how you dealt with the vocals and the close drum mics. I'm not too happy with how mine turned out. But any feedback in general would be ideal.
