This was my first time mixing a really heavy song. Some of the tracks were already compressed coming in and minimal compression were needed. I just found it really hard to mix the overheads and took some time cleaning up the toms. Other than that, I had a pretty good time mixing.

I only mix on headphones, though. My room isn't suited for mixing on speakers, which I'm planning to do hopefully before the end of the year. Tell me you thoughts. Thanks!

Hi, sounds pretty good. I am hearing a low frequency woof going on with the kick. Probably hard to pick up on your headphones. Some of the guitar tracks need editing towards the end, as they get all out of timing. Check the reference mix for that.

One thing tough about this track is the loud hihat. I'm not sure how others dealt with it, but I used the hihat track as a sidechain ducker to the overheads. Might be an idea.
